Capturing the awesome power and size of Vernal Falls is quite impossible. A person has to experience this beautiful place first hand to understand our relationship to the environment.
This photo was taken while standing on a rock in the middle of the roaring Merced River at the height of the spring thaw.I had only a short time to set up, focus and shoot before camera, lens, filter, and I were completely drenched.
The trembling boulders and roar of that river will be in my memory forever.
